SOLD $1,450.00 Sold: Mar 30, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
James Bond's 007 Beer Can - Real, not a paper label fake, RARE White Stripe version 82-38 Tower Bridge (Air sealed - Contains NO BEER) These are the extremely RARE White Stripe versions of the 007 cans that say: A MALT LIQUORblended with PREMIUM BEER As opposed to the more common (but still valuable) version that says: A subtle blend of PREMIUM BEER and MALT LIQUOR Examine the high resolution first picture, this is the can you will receive. The other two pictures show the top and bottom of all three of these cans I have up for auction.(Note: The vertical stripe in the pictures is just a reflection) They are valued at more then two and a half times the more common cans in the United States Beer Cans Vol. II (Tab Tops) reference book. The Story of the 007 Cans: This beer was created in 1968 by the National Brewing Company at their Pheonix, AZ plant. The more common can was test marketed in four cities. They did not do well! National then created this ‘white stripe’ version which was test marketed only in San Francisco. It faired no better and shortly the brand was pulled. It is often said that Ian Fleming’s estate threatened to sue for using the Bond name without permission, but there is no actual proof of that. More than likely they were pulled simply because the public did not like the taste of this unique beer and malt liquor blend. The Story of these Cans in particular: These cans (I have three of the seven up for sale) were original, full-sized flats owned by a brewery employee. They punched 2 holes in each to keep in a binder. Later the cans were then professionally rolled, correct height, as you see now. These are very rare cans being offered at a great price due to the holes. So here is your chance to own a REAL White Stripe 007 can! Bid with confidence · Member of the BCCA: #26222 (check in the latest membership guide) · Member of the FB Breweriana Buy Sell Trade group (as featured in a recent version of the BCCA’s magazine) Can will be packed very well. $25 shipping includes insurance. (If you are interested in multiple cans, I will offer a break on the shipping)
