2023 Anchor (Steam) Christmas Ale Ltd. Edition 16 oz SHORT-RUN Beer Can (bottle)
2023 Anchor (Steam) Christmas Ale Ltd. Edition 16 oz SHORT-RUN Beer Can (bottle)
SOLD $350.00 Sold: Sep 2, 2023 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
This is an EMPTY beer can that has been carefully opened from the bottom, with two small slits, as you can see from the picture. The last of a great legacy of Anchor Christmas Ales. They made a small batch of the beer earlier this year and then when they announced that they would be closing the Brewery for good at the end of July 2023, they canned that batch, but only made it available at the Brewery in SF. It was not ever sold at stores. All the previous Our Special Ales were made in 12 oz bottles or magnums, so this is the true outlier--a 16 oz. can. I went to the Brewery a few weeks ago, bought a four-pack of these cans, opened the first two from the bottom, poured them into a glass, drank them, rinsed them out, and now 3 of the 4 cans may live in a can collection or Anchor Christmas Ale collection for the rest of time (like one of the cans will in my collection)... There simply are not many of these. The handful of people who went to the Brewery for the few hours over a couple days the week they announced they were closing are likely keeping them for themselves and their friends, as it's really sad that this 127 year old brewery has closed its doors for good... . Regardless, this is the 2023 version of the Christmas Ale "Our Special Ale Merry Christmas Happy New Year." Good luck with your bids--this is the second of three I will be listing on eBay. The first one closed on eBay a couple weeks ago for $371, FYILow Opening bid, and no reserve; please do not ask me to end the auction, as it will run the full 5 days. 15 Day Full Money back refund. 40+ year member of the BCCA, #23111
