Old Milwaukee Pale Gold" Beer empty flat top beer can by the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The brewery was established in 1849 by August Krug; Joseph Schlitz married his widow Anna Marie and changed the brewery's name to "Jos. Schlitz" in 1858; the brewery survived Prohibition and became the largest producer of beer in the United States; sold to Stroh in 1982.
